Rewilding Europe – Sweden

Announcement:  A call for the wild nature

Rewilding Europe is pleased to announce that it today established a new foundation, based in Sweden. Its purpose is to promote the return of wild nature and wildlife in Sweden and other parts of Europe, by supporting rewilding activities in Sweden and Europe.

Rewilding Europe established various project activities and initiatives in Swedish Lapland 2016. Since we saw good opportunities as well as a need for our rewilding approach in Sweden, we decided to establish a Swedish foundation, the Rewilding Europe – Sweden Foundation.

The Swedish foundation will apply the same perspectives on rewilding as Rewilding Europe: a new and progressive approach to conservation. It’s about letting nature take care of itself, enabling natural processes to shape land and sea, repair damaged ecosystems and restore degraded landscapes. Through rewilding, wildlife’s natural rhythms create wilder, more biodiverse habitats.

The foundation will seek support from individuals, companies, foundations, organisations and authorities. Each contribution, large and small, will be used transparently and effectively for actions that promote the original wild nature and wildlife in the areas we work with. Everyone embracing the idea of rewilding is welcome to make a contribution to the work of the new foundation.

The new foundation is independent but will operate in connection with Rewilding Europe. Rewilding activities, communication and local economic development are common foundations in the work.

Would you like to support the Rewilding Europe – Sweden Foundation Please feel free to contact us.
